So, why we still have Rikshas in India ?

I am in kolkata right now for last few days for some business work and is just trying to get hang of the city. Its a very old city of India with very rich cultural heritage but one thing which I really hated was these rikshaws, it is hard to imagine a human pulling another human and is very dehumanising.

I am not asking them to completely taken off from roads, but atleast put a motor so a person don’t have to paddle it, a 55 KG guy pulling uncle and aunty of combined weight of 165 KG is shocking, and even more shocking is, when uncle/aunty argues with the rikshawalla for 2 rupees!
